Jennifer Gachiri

Jennifer Gachiri, a Harvard Law School graduate, served for four years as a federal prosecutor in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.  In that role, she investigated and prosecuted numerous white collar felony matters involving international money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act and sanctions violations, tax evasion, cybercrime, wire fraud, and public corruption. Outside of court, she prepared and delivered presentations to foreign legal dignitaries regarding, among other things, the Sentencing Guidelines and advanced investigative techniques. She also participated in pioneering initiatives, including serving as a founding member of the Office’s Diversity Advisory Board, and referring young, non-violent defendants to a pilot diversionary program providing counseling, treatment, and access to employment as an alternative to incarceration. As per August 1, 2019, Jennifer is Senior Counsel for Market Regulation Enforcement at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, a Visiting Faculty Member at Harvard Law School, and a member of the Boards of Directors of EDsnaps and FedKids.  She lives in Brooklyn with her 3-year-old son.
